Central Coast Amateur Radio Club News – June 29, 2025

The club rooms at Kariong are open on Saturdays from 10:00am. As always, members and visitors are most welcome.

The next monthly meeting will be held at the Kariong premises at 1pm on Saturday July 5. The meeting will be preceded by a BBQ at midday. Details will be emailed to club members.

Members are reminded that annual fees are now due and need to be paid before the AGM. Information about fees is available on the Club website.

Last weekend the members attending the clubhouse participated in building and erecting a 40m vertical in preparation for the upcoming Trans-Tasman Contest. The antenna is mounted on the fence behind the club and a run of coax will be connected to it shortly to test it out.

As of time of submission, all services at VK2RAG Somersby are operational.

The Club’s Weekly net is held on Thursday night at 8:00pm on the VK2RAG 2m repeater – 146.725MHz with a 91.5Hz sub-audible tone, and on the HAM Echolink conference. It is also live video-streamed on the club’s facebook page. Please use the HAM conference to connect to the net over echolink as VK2RAG only has the one interface for this use, and it will be used to connect to this conference.

You can find out more about the CCARC on the web at ccarc.org.au, by phone on 02 4340 2500; which normally goes to message bank, or on social media by searching for “Central Coast Amateur Radio Club”. Remember to give the club a “like” to follow for any updates.

73, from Alan VK2MG
Publicity Officer, Central Coast Amateur Radio Club.
