THE PERIODIC NEWSLETTER OF THE CENTRAL COAST AMATEUR RADIO CLUB INC

ISSUE No 12-05

In this edition:

  1. SUCCESS!! 3 new Foundation and two new Standard exam passes!

  2. Report on mast and Tri-bander status.

  3. Get ready for the Field Day!!

1. Education day at the club a great success –

Saturday 18th. February saw a full day foundation course and other exams being taken and I am glad to announce the following successes:

Christine, John & Terry all passed their foundation exam following the course

Dougie VK2FDCC passed his Standard exam (he had already passed the regs earlier)

Leigh VK2FLCT passed his Standard exam (he had already passed the regs earlier)

2. Club HF antenna / rotator re-installation – Saturday 18th. February.

While we managed to get the new extended mast and repaired rotator installed and the guy ropes adjusted, there was not enough people or time with other activities in progress to get the tri-bander beam back up. As everything is now prepared, it should not be a large job in two weeks time (possibly) to lower the mast, lean it over and add the beam, before raising it again to its increased height in plenty of time for the upcoming John Moyle contest in March. Provision has also been made for a 2m yagi to be added above the HF tri-bander and if ready in time, that may get added at the same time.
I’ll be chasing for members to attend to assist with the next antenna action once we know a definite date.

3. Wyong Field Day

– I don’t think there’s an Amateur in Australia that doesn’t know that next Sunday is our Field Day at Wyong.

ALL members are needed to assist with set-up, running and take-down of the event. For those who could not attend on Friday evening, please make the effort to get up to the project meeting on Tuesday evening from 7:30pm at the club rooms to confirm your role and get your workers access ticket.

Exact times to start the site installation will be sent to members via private email or phone for those without internet mid-week.
