1. Project meetings continue through December.

As none of the Friday nights in December fall on an actual public holiday, it has been decided that the club will be open each Friday night for the Projects and Development group and those interested in any way.

Progress is good on the current project, a frequency counter kit with three of the ten units already completed only a week after they arrived!

Here are some photos of the group, hard at work completing the kits.

The next projects groups show and tell projects group meeting will be in January and hopefully most if not all of these kits will have been assembled, so we can see if there are any different readings from these identical kits.

2. Christmas Lunch – did you miss it?

Saturday the 8th. December saw the CCARC / WICEN CNC combined Christmas lunch and the club was a-buzz with people from all over the coast and Hunter areas. Food was fantastic and organisation A-1. If you forgot, you missed out on a very nice occasion. Here are a few snapshots of the event;

3. Mini Contest University at Wyong – please publicise.

As some of you already know, I have obtained permission and material from the Dayton 2012 Contest University and in fact there is now a link from the Dayton Contest University website www.contestuniversity.com to our field day website at www.fieldday.org.au.

The following is the first press release on the Mini-Contest University (MCU)

Wyong Mini-Contest-University – February 23rd. 2013 at Wyong.

Trent VK4TS (WIA Director for Awards and Contests) is locked in as keynote speaker to introduce the day. As well as material from the Dayton Contest University, kindly supplied by Tim K3LR, some local content has been offered to be presented by members of the VKCC group.

One aim of the “MCU” is to help people understand what contesting is all about. It’s hoped that people who are sitting on the contest sidelines, not knowing how to move forward can gain from attending this (free) event.

As well as the educational content it is hoped that the networking component – the chance to meet the people you have heard (or heard of) will also form a major part of the day. The day will run from 10 am to 4pm on Saturday 23rd. February with an hour break for lunch and if there is sufficient interest extend to a get together and meal in the evening at a local pub or restaurant joining up with others coming to the Field Day on the Sunday.

Information and details can be found under the mini contest university link in the sidebar of www.fieldday.org.au or directly from the link on the Dayton Contest University page at www.contestuniversity.com

To register for the first ever Australian Contest University, please email me (Ed VK2JI) under the email address contests @ ccarc.org.au.
