1. Monthly General Meeting
This Saturday 3rd May will be the projects group meeting & general get together at 1000hrs. Following a delicious BBQ lunch at 1200 we will have the Monthly business meeting at 1330 hrs. Everyone welcome. All Sub-Committee chairs, your reports are now required.
2. John Moyle Field Day results
The results for this years John Moyle Field day are on the WIA website.
3. 20th Century Radio Fiction
Alfredo Fernández-Magdalena EA1BCS would like to invite you to take a break from daily radio issues and perhaps, in some cases, to recall a few memories too.
In this article, he takes a look at how radio, and radio amateurs (including CBers), have been portrayed in films, on TV and in comics.

1878 Phonograph shown for first time at Grand Opera House
1879 Electric arc lights used for the first time — in Cleveland, Ohio.
1880 The first U.S. patent for an electric hearing aid was issued to Francis D. Clarke and M.G. Foster
1884 Lismore’s first phone, Royal Hotel to Post Office.
1904 Hulsemeyer, Germany, patents first ‘radar’ system.

CCARC has a 23 cm repeater on trial. Output 1273.400 MHz offset plus 20 MHz. We invite you to use it as much as possible and send Don VK2ZCZ your written (or typed) signal reports.
Our Smoke Signals Editor, Leonie VK2LCP is busily preparing for the next issue (May) and is asking nicely for articles, photos (any from Field Day would be appreciated). New items are to be sent to: smokesignalseditor at fsparker.com.au please.
There will be a working bee at the Somersby Repeater site on Saturday 17th May to carry out much needed maintenance.
