1. Wyong Field Day de brief This Saturday

 

The Wyong Field Day de brief will be held on Saturday 14th March 2015, commencing at 1300 hours.

Yaesu HF rig. FT757GXII. (warc bands). photo copy manual, power leads and hand mic. Also include is a Kenwood MC50 desk mic with plug changed to suit this Yaesu
( impedance not quite right ).
Rig in perfect order, only selling because I’ve upgraded.
Would be a great first rig or for weekends away! $400 for the lot.

Monday, 9 March, 2015

105 Ts’ai Lun invented paper, made from bamboo, mulberry, and other fibers, along with fish nets and rags.
1611 Johannes Fabricius, a Dutch astronomer, observed sunspots for the first time.
1681 King Charles II grants William Penn royal charter for Pennsylvania.
1755 A steam engine was first reported used in America, at a copper mine in New Barbados Neck (now North Arlington), NJ.
1781 English astronomer William Herschel detected Uranus in the night sky.
1794 Eli Whitney was issued a U.S. patent for his cotton gin.
1876 A. G. Bell made what was, in effect, the first telephone call. “Mr Watson, come here I want you.”
1892 An escalator design was patented in the U.S. by inventor Jesse W. Reno of New York City.
1897 Marconi demos to UK Army etc achieving about 5 kms.
1899 Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin was issued a U.S. patent for his invention of his “Navigable Balloon,”
1930 The discovery of a ninth planet, Pluto, was announced by C. W. Tombaugh at Lowell Observatory.
