2. CCARC Calling Sked

From Pete VK2TA

OK, in the interests of trying to get some noise made on our air-waves, and RAG in particular, please find attached a “clock-face” idea for a calling schedule which I devised some time ago.

Whilst I fully respect some operators desire to arrange QSO’s by email or SMS, I believe a Sked is more in the true spirit of radio- I do not say which is truly better. Of course Net’s are good but they keep failing.

Anyway, from this point on, the times described in the attached document are the times that I will call, and listen, over a 5 minute period following the chosen frequency / band time. No, I won’t be spending 24/7 going around the clock-face and, No, one does not have to leave the frequency after 5 minutes. You choose what you wish to do with it- its just an idea for a common get-together, thereby increasing an operators chance of making contact.

Please understand that it’s predicated on-
1)   USING THE MINUTE HAND FOR EXACT TIMING FOR A CALL, and
2)   USING THE HOUR HAND ONLY FOR ROUGH TIMING OF WHEN YOUR KNOWN BUDDIES MIGHT BE AVAILABLE.

Its the minute hand that determines when you make the exact call.

CCARC Sked

Anyway, no hard feelings if you don’t like it but I reckon its a good and simple way of doing what we are supposed to be doing.

FWIW- I have to disregard the HF side of things at the moment but I have great access to RAG with D-Star C & B, 2 & 70 analogue, and 6.

So, please enjoy and let me know what you think,

with cheers,

Pete VK2TA
