The club wishes to announce the Central Coast Amateur Radio Club “Mayham” event will be held on Sunday the 30th of May 2021 at Wyong Race Course as well as both a Pedestrian and mobile fox hunt on Saturday the 29th of May. For the patrons who have attended the Wyong Field Day for many years, It’s the same event, but with a fresh date and new name. For those are looking to attend, be a trader or exhibitor, please email the team at mayham@ccarc.org.au.

The Club’s next foundation, training and assessment weekend will be on Saturday the 29th of May at the clubrooms with examinations following on Sunday the 30th May at Wyong Race Course, coinciding with the Mayham event. If you are interested in obtaining your licence or upgrading your existing licence, please reach out to the club’s education facilitator Karen VK2AKB at education@ccarc.org.au
The club wishes to advise in a change of local repeater operation, Between the hours of 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM EST, The VK2RAG 23cm, 6 Meter, 70cm 438.075 MHz including link to Rylstone, MMDVM 438.875 MHz and the 2 Meter Packet will be switched off to conserve power, especially coming into the winter months.
The VK2RAG 2 Meter 146.725 MHz and WICEN repeaters are not affected by this change and the repeater committee will revisit again in the future to review these changes.

A recent Social media Post, Craig VK3CRG provided some inspiring thoughts regarding his recent contact with club member Adrian, VK2ABS. “A polite, clever, articulate young man, new to the hobby, he’s exactly the sort we need to keep the hobby alive for the decades to come.” The club’s executive team are incredibly proud of Adrian and for the members who have taken Adrian under their wing to provide guidance.
This week the Club’s Thursday evening net this week was hosted by Alan VK2MG with a discussion about the easter long weekend and are you getting out and about? There was a mixed bag of some staying home and others strapping everything but the kitchen sink to their vehicle. Thank you, Alan!

Adrian VK2ABS hosts a fortnightly Slow Scan Television net every second Friday on the VK2RAG WICEN 2 Meter Repeater. The next net is scheduled for Friday the 9th of April.

Bob VK2AOR and Dave VK2KFU continue with the clubs Morning Tea net every day. Whilst some check ins are starting to lighten up with many returning back to their workplace, the boys still continue to push through. A huge thanks go out to Bob and Dave for running these nets, it sure brightens up everyone’s day. Did you know the net has been running for over 12 months now?

Both nets are held on the VK2RAG 2 Metre repeater, 146.725Mhz with a 91.5hz sub audible tone and available via Echolink using CCARCNSW conference server or IRLP node 9509.

The club looking for more operators to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the RAAF. This is a great opportunity to get out on the bands and share in celebrating this momentous occasion portable or otherwise. If club members are interested in participating, please reach out to the club directly.
