Welcome to the VK2RTG’s QRZ page!
VK2RTG is one of the call signs of the Central Coast Amateur Radio Club, based in Kariong & Somersby near Gosford on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia.
This call sign is used for both the 70cm multimode/FM and Amateur TV repeaters. These repeaters are located in the suburb of Kariong near Gosford.
The club participates in the 4 VHF/UHF field day contests, the John Moyle contest and the RD contest each year. As of 2011, we have also started supporting ILLW, activating Nobbys Head lighthouse in Newcastle, NSW. The call will be active again this year in the Jamboree on the air (JOTA) working with the Gosford District scouts.
The club’s other callsigns are VK2AFY – mostly used from the club shack in Kariong and VK2WFD used each year for the “Wyong Field Day” the largest amateur radio meeting in the southern hemisphere each February.
Another call sign operated by the CCARC is VK2RAG, which is a range of repeaters running many different modes on several different bands from our Somersby repeater station.
