1. VK2LCP Leonie Parker in Hospital
Leonie Parker, VK2LCP, has had a fall on the weekend and has broken her hip and is currently in Gosford hospital.
2. A Call for Volunteers!
I have been contacted by Avoca Venturer Scouts about showcasing Amateur Radio to approx 26 Venturer scouts on Monday 6th, 7pm-9pm, with a view to some of them possibly getting their AR licence.
This a great opportunity for the club to spread the word of AR and to get some much needed younger blood into the hobby, and possibly, into the club.
We’ll need some volunteers to help with the night, so we have a good cross section of people to highlight all that is good about our passion.
Thanks
Rod

3. VK2RAG alterations
The 438.075 Repeater’s receiver will be changed from 433.075 to 431.075 MHz (- 7 MHz offset) at the end of the month.
Presently, there is an additional receiver on 431.075 + 92.5 Hz so all users can reprogramme their radios before the end of April.

4. ATV News
The digital ATV repeater is now in operation and operates on a frequency of 446.5 MHz from Kariong, the beam pattern is essentially north from Kariong with a beam width of 60 deg. at the 3dB points, the polarization is horizontal.
The analogue transmitter on 444.25 is not in use at present but will be enabled when the antenna switching system is developed and installed.
At the present we are only employing half of the tx array so the E.R.P. is down by 3dB, we hope to remedy this in the near future.
The input frequency remains the same 1250MHz. V Pol. W.B.F,M. P.A.L.
The results are very encouraging since adopting QPSK. as our transmission format.
