1. No news is not good news – “Eddie-torial”.
After the last couple of weeks rush of news it appears all of your quill pens have dried up as I have received NO items of news for this weeks CCARC NEWS.
One follow up to a story from last week, VK2 did in fact go live in the Summits on the Air scheme (SOTA) on Sunday 1st. September at 00:00 UTC and about half a dozen peaks in NSW were alive with RF. Rod and I were up at Mount Elliot and had 49 contacts from VK5, VK3, VK1, VK7, VK4 and of course VK2. If you want to read more, please go to my blog at vk2ji.com.
Last Saturday a special presentation from Don VK2ZCZ and Ian VK2HK on how a spectrum analyser was used to set up the repeater duplexers took place – perhaps those taking pictures are preparing an article for Smoke Signals as I have not received anything for CCARC NEWS.
Ed VK2JI.
2. Broke & fixed.
Thankfully all CCARC infrastructure is currently operational.
3. Reminders.
This section lists important announcements and possibly items from previous CCARC NEWS editions that are still current and may need your input:
The field Day web site is not yet active and will not be found under the old URL. Details about the Wyong Field Day 2014 will appear as part of our normal ccarc.org.au website when they are ready.
Next Saturday, September 14th. at 13:00 is the club’s monthly lecture. This month the lecture is an introduction to Summits on the Air (SOTA) from yours truly, Ed VK2JI.
